k(AI)zen Workshop

We are proud to offer this AI-Enhanced Process Improvement Workshop designed to integrate Lean Six Sigma (LSS) methodologies with cutting-edge AI tools. This hands-on workshop will help you streamline operations, identify inefficiencies, and explore both Lean and AI-driven solutions to improve your processes effectively.

Prerequisites

WIIFM (What’s In It For Me)

  • Flex and expand your LSS muscles
  • Learn more about Automation and AI
  • Walk away with ideas on what’s possible, as well as getting a start on buidling those ideas!
  • Did I mention that the pilot group will receive this for freeeeeeeeee?

Details specific to the pilot

The pilot program will run in January. Our goal is to develop this into a formal recurring offering for UCSD. Your participation in the pilot will help us refine the approach and support structures.

What to Expect

In this workshop, you will:

  • Identify Pain Points: Through detailed analysis of your submitted Promapp and data.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis: Using the 5 Whys technique to uncover underlying inefficiencies.
  • Explore AI Opportunities: Discover how AI tools like TritonGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and Power Automate can automate and enhance your processes.
  • Prioritize and Implement Solutions: Use Lean Six Sigma techniques and AI tools to develop a prioritized plan for process improvement.
  • Collaborate and Build Actionable Plans: Leave with a clear roadmap, including milestones and resource requirements, to implement the improvements.

Ready to get started? Submit your process information!

To be considered for the pilot workshop, please email us at osi@ucsd.edu with the following details:

  1. Three-Sentence Summary of the Process: Provide a brief overview of the process you wish to improve, highlighting its purpose and key steps.
  2. Three-Sentence Problem Statement: Clearly describe the main issue or inefficiency within the process, focusing on the specific pain point you aim to address.

If your process is selected for the workshop, you will be required to complete the following prior to the workshop (with our guidance):

  1. Create a process map: Document the process, focusing on key steps, decision points, related policies, and bottlenecks.
  2. Gather Data: Collect relevant performance metrics such as success rates, time spent on tasks, and any known pain points.
  3. Form a Team: Assemble a diverse team including Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), a sponsor, customer representatives, and a neutral voice to provide comprehensive insights and ensure balanced discussions.

After the workshop, we ask that you share with us an impact information regarding your implementation.

Please email osi@ucsd.edu if you have any additional questions.
