Campus Initiatives
Artificial Intelligence (AI) Consulting
What Is It?
We help departments across UC San Diego explore, evaluate, and implement AI solutions that improve efficiency, reduce manual work, and enhance decision-making. From developing business cases and facilitating proof-of-concept pilots to delivering tailored workshops and trainings, OSI guides you through the safe, effective, and campus-aligned adoption of AI tools—especially TritonGPT . Whether you’re curious about what’s possible or ready to automate, we bring the structure, expertise, and change management needed to turn ideas into impact.
Who It's For:
- Teams with repetitive, manual tasks that could benefit from automation or AI assistance
- Departments with ideas for how AI might help but need support scoping and executing a solution
- Units looking to train staff on how to safely and productively use tools like TritonGPT in their day-to-day work
- Leaders seeking a structured, low-risk way to explore AI without engaging outside vendors or compromising on standards
- Anyone ready to move beyond curiosity and start using AI meaningfully in university operations

Campus Initiatives
What Is It?
When a high-priority initiative comes down from the Chancellor or Vice Chancellors, we step in as program managers and facilitators to drive it forward. Our role is to organize the effort, connect the dots between different units, and ensure that the project stays aligned with the university’s vision and delivers real results.
Who It's For:
- Senior leaders (Chancellor, Vice Chancellors, Deans) who have a major initiative that spans multiple departments – for instance, a directive to improve a university-wide process, compliance with a new regulation, or a strategic priority that touches many areas
- Cross-functional committees or task forces charged with addressing campus-wide issues (e.g., a task force on sustainability, or a committee to implement a new administrative system) that need project management and coordination support
- Collaborative projects between two or more divisions that would benefit from an impartial coordinator (For example, a joint effort between Academic Affairs and Student Affairs, where OSI can act as the bridge.)
- Big ideas that require broad participation – if you have a concept for improving UC San Diego at scale but are not sure how to marshal the campus community to achieve it, OSI can help develop the plan and bring the stakeholders together.
